Our CSU Peer Institutions
Peer Institutions are institutions with a set of comparable higher education characteristics selected for comparative or benchmark purposes. In the fall of 2007, eight CSU peer institutions were selected to benchmark CSUMB’s retention and graduation rates. These eight institutions were chosen on the basis of several deciding factors, including:
- Size (population)
- Geographical area served
- Admissions Test (SAT) Scores
- Title IV participating institution
- Degree-granting institution

Public, 4-year or above
The eight institutions are:
- Bakersfield
- Channel Islands
- Dominguez Hills
- East Bay
- Humboldt
- San Marcos
- Sonoma
- Stanislaus
